Scarecrow trail is on the way
Wednesday, 17 February 2010
Easter is early this year and so the clock has started ticking to the launch of the Annual Fiskerton and Morton Scarecrow Trail around the villages. Last year was our first attempt at this event and we were inundated with scarecrows and visitors over the weekend. The competition is open to all Fiskerton and Morton households and the only requirement is that your scarecrow is homemade and contains straw or hay. Entry forms must be in by Friday March 26th with a £2 entry fee and they can be collected from the pub or the shop. Alternatively, send us an email and we will email a form to you. Scarecrows must be on display by Wednesday 31st March. The route will be open to the voting public from Good Friday until Easter monday, and the winners will be announced with a free fish and chip supper for all the entrants (2 adults and 2 children per entry) at 7pm at on Easter Monday at The Full Moon.

Pancake party news
Wednesday, 03 February 2010

This year we have decided to hold our pancake party in aid of Save the Children. They are carrying out vital work in Haiti right now along with trying to improve the lives of children all round the globe. We hope this year will be a bumper year and that we will all have some fun along the way! If you would like to skip burnt pancakes and batter on the ceiling at yours, do come down to The Moon from 5pm until 7pm for an evenings entertainment with Marvo, bangers and mash and as many pancakes as you can manage. Tickets need to be pre paid and are £3 for children, £5 for adults and £15 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children.

Full marks from Cask Marque!
Monday, 18 January 2010

The Full Moon has despite all the changes and events, always been proud to stick to its roots as a great traditional pub serving real ale. Landlord Will's passion is keeing his Real Ale in top condition and it is part of the pub which is completly down to his skills as a cellar man. So, he was chuffed to bits on monday morning when the Cask Marque inspector dropped in to spot check his beers and gave them all 20 out of 20. For those of you who know a few things about Real Ale, you will appreciate what an achivement this is - for those of you who don't know about Real Ale, it means The Full Moon is probably one of the best places to learn!

Talking of beer......we have our first Pie and Pint night of 2010 on the way on the 29th where you will be able to get a Pie and a Pint (or glass of house wine) for £10.50. It is a popular evening and a great chance to catch up without breaking the bank.

See you soon

PS Don't forget to call in and collect your pre registered loyalty card - you could be one of the lucky 50 with added points!
